EAFR LONG DISTANCE AND SPONSORED RIDE EVENTS

The EAFR have organised various events over the years including Long Distance Rides and Sponsored Rides, which have been enjoyed by members from all over East Anglia.

Jean Brown from Maltings Farm, Little Horksley has invited us to have another Sponsored/Long Distance Ride from their Farm in Autumn 2010. If Riders would like this we will need MARSHALLS and a suggested Date that does not class with other similar Rides.  We need Riders suggestions and Volunteers to help.  Contact Jane or Nigel  in Office.

These events provide a perfect opportunity to experience and enjoy new locations and routes and get together with other horse riders in the area. Over the years we have raised Thousands of Pounds for Charity with Long Distance Charity Rides held on our Farm Ride Routes. We will try to hold further rides in future years.

Further information on these events can be seen below:

EAFR LONG DISTANCE RIDE 2003 - WarrensFarm, Great Tey

Thank you first to Mr Peter Fairs and other landowners who let us ride on their land on the 28th September. The ride was a success with over 80 riders riding the long route around the Great Tey area. The ride was in aid of  Moorecroft and was a very well attended day as the weather stayed fine. We hope to organise another ride for 2004 and hope even more people will be able to attend.

EAFR LONG DISTANCE RIDE 2002- Chapel Farm, Little Totham

May I thank Mr and Mrs Tom Howie for letting us start our ride in their farm yard and surrounding fields as well as all the other landowners who let us use their land.

I thank everyone for their help and support in making the Jubilee ride on Sunday, another success with 90 riders taking part.

The income from the ride totalled £1,320 (entries - £1,258.00 + Refreshments - £62.35)
Advertising and other costs amounted to approx £200, leaving approximately £1,100 which was donated to the two charities we were supporting Canine Partners for Independence and the Woodland Trust (Fordham Hall Project).

Thank you once again for all your support and for coming along. We hope you all enjoyed the ride and would finally like to thank all the marshals and helpers since without them we would not be able to run such a successful ride!
