East Anglian Farm Rides has now opened over 250 miles of off road hacks, rides, tracks and headlands to horse riders on over 55 farms in Essex. We continue to work on adding new rides and aim to provide one of the best off road riding networks available.
For a small annual fee, horse riders can ride on all routes managed by E.A.F.R and on all routes throughout the UK within the English Farm Rides Association - Not just in your Local area! Current Area's include Aldham, Ardleigh, Beazley End, Boxted, Braintree, Braxted Park, Colchester, Chapel, Dedham, Dengie Penninsula, Eight Ash Green, Fordham, Gosfield, Great Tey, Great Totham, Halstead, High Garrett, Horsley CrossLangford, Layer, Little Bentley, Little Bromley, Little Horksley, Maldon, Mersea, Peldon, Tendring, Tiptree, Tolleshunt, Tollesbury, Wakes Colne, West Bergholt, Wickham Bishops and Wormingford.
The scheme has enabled horse riders to get off the increasingly busy roads onto farm tracks which join up to create interesting riding routes, linking where possible to existing Public Bridleways. The Scheme is supported by Essex County Council & Local Councils

This years Ride held at Maltings Farm , Little Horksley was really fantastic with 120 Riders and over £2,000 was raised for Essex Air Ambulance and Kelvedon Rotary Club Charities.Many thanks to Anglian Distance Riders ADR for running this joinly with us. WE WILL DO IT ALL AGAIN 2nd SEPTEMBER 2012.
FORDHAM AREA - Due to several riders having been reported without Tags in this area we are pleased to report that we have appointed Tim Hersey as our MARSHALL in this Area. If you see Tim out on his Horse please let him know if you have seen riders without TAGS. If for any reason you have left your Tag back in your yard Tim may ask you to turn around. You know very well you have agreed to wear your tag on your horse AT ALL TIMES. He has our full authority and I hope yours as well. You has been warned, if riders break the rules we may lose some of the Toll Routes as the Farmers are getting quite upset by the amount of Unlicensed Riders Tresspassing on their land..
We need Volunteer MARSHALLS in all Areas - Can you volunteer. Robert & Nigel cant patrol the whole of Essex.
